Summer Reading Program
June 16 - August 18, 2025


Read 25+ hours this summer and qualify to win prizes! Teens in grades eight through twelve or ages 13 to 19 can participate. Pick up a reading log from the library to keep track of how much you read. Every time you level up on the log sheet, bring it to the library to pick out a prize from our cart (choose from bookmarks, pens, note-books, sunglasses, and more). Once you complete the log, bring it in and be entered to win one of our grand prizes.

Grand Prize 1 — GameStop $60 Gift Card

Grand Prize 2 — Crochet Gift Basket (yarn, needles, wobble kit, crochet book)

Grand Prize 3 — Adventure Gift Basket (gift certificates from SportsCenter of Connecticut, Ski Mount Southington, and more!)

Grand Prize 4 — Foodie Gift Basket (gift certificates from Brooklyn Bakery, Frank Pepe Pizza, McDonald’s)

PFLAG Social Night

Queer youth, their friends, and family are invited to join us for a social evening with activities like board games, crafts, and more! Bring your ideas for what you’d like to see at the library. Hosted by PFLAG Waterbury Chapter.

 

 

Creative Tale Tuesday

Express yourself in writing with a different workshop each month. In June, we’ll focus on poetry; in July, short stories; and in August, playwriting. We’ll supply notebooks, pens, and snacks.

 

 

Level Up Your Finances
Thursdays, July 10 - August 7, 5:30 p.m.
TeenZone

Get smart about money and find strategies for building wealth with this free financial literacy program for ages 13-18. This five-week program is presented by Natalie Klemm, a high school student who serves on the national leadership team for Girls Who Start, a nonprofit working to combat gender inequalities in the business world, and as a board member of Females for Finance, a nonprofit founded by Yale students.
