Blindness or Low Vision

The following types of equipment and services are available for blind or visually-impaired library patrons:

• Large Print books (Main Reading Room)
• Library newsletter "Books and Happenings" available in large print (Main Reading Room)
• "Reader's Digest" magazine available in large print (Main Reading Room - with the large print book collection)
• audio books (East Wing and Children's Department)
• signs in both print and braille
• hand-held magnifier (Main Reading Room - Information Desk)
• closed circuit television system (CCTV) - Optelec (East Wing)
• several computer work stations with large print and/or speech output capability - ZoomText, MAGIC, JAWS (East Wing)
• Scanner that can magnify print (East Wing)

The equipment is available on a self-service basis.  Please feel free to ask any of the staff for assistance if you need help operating the equipment.
