| SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives) is a national volunteer organization sponsored by the US Small Business Administration. SCORE counselors can help you reach your business goals, whether you are trying to start a business or improve profitability, by building an effective marketing plan, obtaining financing, or just planning for the future.
SCORE counselors are former small business owners, successful entrepreneurs and senior corporate executives and have assisted businesses such as service operations, retailing, manufacturing and food service.
Counseling is offered at the main branch of the Silas Bronson Library on Grand Street. Call 574-8225 for an appoinment. If a meeting at the Library is not convenient, SCORE can arrange to meet at your place of business. Visit the SCORE website for more information. 
The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is part of Central Connecticut State University located downtown New Britain, CT. We are the unique result of a partnership which includes Central Connecticut State University, the CSU system which includes Western CT. State University (WCSU), Southern CT. State University (SCSU), and Eastern CT. State University (ECSU). The other partnerships are with the United States Small Business Administration, the Department of Economic and Community Development, and the private sector.
