While volunteerism is cost effective, it is not without cost.
LVGW is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. LVGW receives funding from the United Way, State of Connecticut Department of Adult Education, Community Development Block Grant, and the Connecticut Community Foundation. In addition, LVGW is supported with grants from local businesses and foundations, as well as through the fundraising efforts of our Board of Directors. However, with a waiting list of more than 100 adults, the need for LVGW services continues to climb, thereby increasing the need for additional funding.
A direct gift from friends of LVGW will enable us to purchase books and materials to help our tutors better serve our adult learners.
